Sister Jeanne Andre Brendel, OP and Sister Mary Butler, OP were recently featured on the front page of the Syosset Advance Newspaper. The dynamic duo, who founded Harvest House 35 years ago – was recently bestowed the special honor of “Women of Distinction” from Nassau County Legislator Joshua Lafazan, after he received many letters praising the Sisters for their work with seniors.

Harvest House is just that – a house- where independent seniors can live communally. It was founded after Sister Jeanne Brendel encountered the loneliness and isolation of many seniors living on Long Island while working in an outreach program. She decided to do something to help and Harvest House was established.

If you know a senior who is looking to live in a family-style residence there is room at Harvest House in their Syosset and Floral Park locations, please call 516-496-9796 for more information. Click here to read their story.
